Ironman 2012

I agree, starrytri has made us all look and feel like wimps. I am not travelling too far next year but hope to do ONE Ironman or equivelent(not sure how to spell that). There ive said it now ONE ironman on its own, how hard could that be? I would definately be more afraid of Hackballs Cross than Muff or that place that surely dosent exist in Germany. Am looking at Uk or Ireland if anyone is interested in tagging along.

No way thats a place! Could do an out and back cycle from there to Muff in Donegal!

Listen here Ian, I think you will be very unlikely to get any takers. Perhaps try other places. I mean 5 in 5 days there is no explanation for that! You should be permitted to write everything on forum in capitals as you have belittled every other challenge detailed here!!!!

Anyone thinking of Enduroman Double, Triple, Quin, Deca next year??? It's cheaper than travelling half way across the world for a single IM. Same training, just a little bit tougher on race day(s).

Entry is now open for Frankfurt for 2012, if they are sold out soon another lot will be available after this years race day around 25th July. So if any one wants to start the ball rolling. Norma was obviously checking the finer details and spotted that entry is open

Ok so this is the deal..... discussions have reached an advanced stage and its looking an almost certainty that Norma, Siobhan K and myself are heading for Europe next year. Needless to say we would all prefer to do this with the male club members for moral support. Rumour also has it that a certain lady from the Dungarvan area might also be keen....make yourself known!! Are we mad???

I think we should try get into which ever one will not fill up to fast so all who want to enter can do the same race. The more the merrier. This may not suit the seasoned Ironman who might want to do a particular race but might suit the first timers.

It came up again during the swim last friday in Dunmore, I won't name anyone but I know of at least 3-4 definites
Austria or Frankfurt seem to be the two main runners. I think a meeting......with cake .......is the only way to sort this.

Just a little reminder 3 weeks to Austria 2012 entry opening, any more thoughts? I think either Austria or Frankfurt would be good options. Frankfurt is on the 24th of July this year so I take it the entry is open the day after for 2012. Any other options or considerations?
Rumour has it a number of females in the club are considering Ironman next year, still waiting for confirmation on this

Its that time of year again Mike, at least there is a few thinking anyway thats a start .In case any body doesnt realise using Austria as an example, you got 70% of the entry back if you pulled out up to Feb of this year, 50% up to April and 25% up to the 25 of May, although its expensive at least that is something......... Anyone else

I'm thinking about it and it would be handy if there was a gang going.

Dare I say it...........just putting it there, anyone thinking of doing a race next year? I know its a long way off, but the first of the European races e.g Austria, entry will be opening in about 8 weeks and will fill in a matter of minutes. Just a reminder if anyone needs to get a few quid together, do them few d.i.y jobs you were putting off, book that weekend away you know yourself, anyway if a few were going to head maybe go for the same race next year.
