european duathlon qualifier

Just looking at Naas Tri Club website and they're not definite that the duathlon next sunday will go ahead yet - will make final decision on saturday and are suggesting some alternatives (including just a run!). Anyone else in the club planning to do it?

For those who don't know, the Limerick Duathlon got cancelled yestereday (after Martin K, John McDonald and Ned + Olive C., Treasa and Caroline) arrived there!
According to their website,

''Due to unfortunate overnight changes in the weather conditions in Limerick the course was deemed unsafe to race on Sunday. We are refunding online race entries taken by the club. Due to proximity to christmas and other events already sanctioned we do not have an opportunity to re schedule this event prior to christmas. Triathlon Ireland are in the process of deciding the mechanism of qualification for the European Duathlon event at present and are expected to clarify the situation shortly.''

Naas Duathlon takes place next weekend which clashes with the Waterford half marathon so might not suit many people.

(Norma is taking part in Naas, not sure if anyone else is planning to....)

As it stands it is going ahead. Registration 9-10 and race starts 11. We wil have to see what happens over the next 24 hours. The limerick website will be updated. But if you want to give me an e mail tomorrow, I'll let you know how things are looking in Limerick.

Still planning on going, tomorrow should tell a lot. Weather not looking to good over that way tonight. The question has been asked on the Limerick forum keep an eye on that and the website tomorrow.

People still travelling to Limerick on Sunday morning? Anyone got a hotline to the race organisers? I emailed them earlier. Looks like they're due heavy snow but might be a good thaw afterwards.

Was just checking Limerick tri website to see if there was any update on the duathlon on sunday because of the weather and see that there is online entry until tonight (2nd December) and limited entry on the day in case anyone is interested. I have entered Naas for next weekend (because I was supposed to be away this weekend).

Yeah I was planning on doing the Limerick one. Now where did I leave my bike after the Sean Kelly?

Anyone doing either this one or the one in Limerick on the 5th of December ?
