We will keep it going for another few weeks if there is still some interest. Next week we will change the course again, this time we will start just after the roundabout on the ring road where the 10miler TT finish's, down onto the Tramore road out to Tramore take a left onto the coast Rd heading for Dunmore, take a left onto the Airport Rd. and back to normal finish point of the 10 mile course. Hope that makes sense! Only need a time keeper Treasa said she will do it. I think it is 13 mile's.

TT tonight I will Marshell.
Best option is new TT location meeting 18:30 just outside the Top Garage at Butlerstown and do a loop of Orchardstown,
Tramore, and back to Waterford, back to the start. 13.3 miles in total.
See you there

Re: Club time trial 2011/ king of the hill
Week 9 tonight, our final week at the Top Garage (doing Orchardstown-Tramore loop)
Well done the the 4 people who turned up tonight in the rain (the absentees were duly noted!). The rain actually stopped for the TT and started again straight afterwards so we were lucky. Everyone was slower than their fastest time due to the strong winds but Kyle was only 20secs slower which is very good! Bob Cowman made tonight his debut for this course.
Dave Quigley: 33.52
Colin Fanning: 37.40
Kyle Barrett : 38.00
Bob Cowman: 42.38
Next week are back in Portlaw for another go at the hill. To give people a proper cycle, some of us are meeting at the Top garage at 6pm for anyone who wants to cycle out, meet others in Kilmeaden at 6.20pm at the lay-by after Donnacha's pub before the roundabout - that will be about 25miles round trip from Waterford. TT starts at 7pm at the bottom of Church hill and finishes at 5 cross roads (just take a left there for 100m).
Keep an eye out here for the location of the TT for the following week

Re: Club time trial 2011/ king of the hill
A lovely night for a cycle..approx 30mile round trip from Waterford (or Tramore) to Portlaw and back...throw in a 2.3mile TT up Church hill for good measure!
Some very interesting results. The first few hundred meters were tough especially with the new loose chippings road surface.
We had 10 cyclists willing to take on the challenge with only 1 king at the end of it.
1. Martin Kirwan -- 7.45
2. Shane Scadding- 8.08
3. Pio Wyse ------- 8.27
4. David Devine -- 8.38
5. Stefan Green --- 8.41
6. John McDonald --8.44
7. Stephen Butler - 9.48
8. Kyle Crotty ---- 9.56 (not bad for a 13yr old!)
9. Mark Daly ----- 10.02
10.Liam Power --- 12.14
Back to Waterford next week, meeting at Top Garage for 6.30pm start.

Re: Club time trial 2011/ king of the hill
1st week in our new TT location tonight. 13.3mile loop which, by all accounts, was much tougher than our usual 10mile route. The headwind out the Orchardstown road didn't do much to help. Kyle Barrett was unlucky to get a puncture after about 20m but he mended it and did the TT (we won't say how long it took him to mend it )
1. Martin Kirwan - 32.11
2. Emmet Kelly ---33.52
3. John McDonald 34.22
4. David Devine - 36.21
5. Tom Casey --- 36.51
6. Derek Nolan -- 37.40
7. Dots Connolly - 37.57
8. Kyle Barrett --- 38.05
9. Mark Power --- 39.15
10.Mark Daly ---- 40.47
11.Colin Fanning 41.13
12.Caroline Russel- 43.27
13.Anna Louise Muldoon -43.28
14.John Moloney -46.39
Thanks to marshals Ann Hennebry, Olive Costello, Marc O'C & Helen Whyte
See ye all for Portlaw TT next week. Then back here for the following 3 weeks.

Re: Club time trial 2011/ king of the hill
Hi all....the hill climb in Portlaw is cancelled tonight due to road works. So the TT will be held on the new course starting at the Top station on the Cork road at 6.30. Out to Orchardstown, Tramore and back in to the Top station. We will go to Portlaw next week for the hillclimb if the road is open, so dont be dissapointed!

Anyone else worried that Martink's idea of a good time seems to involve extract one's hair from the root by force? Is there a man in a mask in his cellar??

Do we need to organise a leg waxing night? A good excuse to get it done, you could raise a few quid for your favourite charity!........ and we would have a great laugh and a good night out

Re: Club time trial 2011/ king of the hill
A lovely night for the TT tonight so there were a few pb's set, the biggest improvers being David Devine (1min 30secs faster) with new PlanetX TT bike and newly shaved legs and Pio (about 40 sec's faster) after he "trimmed" his legs. Marc O'C also about 50secs faster & Tom C (1mins 20secs faster) ... Nice to see a few more new faces tonight.

Don't forget new location for next week. We will be doing our TT in Portlaw starting at the bottom of Church hill to 5 cross roads & turn left here to finish on the High road . It's approx 2.5 miles in total so hearts, legs & lungs will be under pressure. TT will start at 7pm sharp.
To give people a proper cycle, some of us are meeting at the Top garage at 6pm for anyone who wants to cycle out, meet anyone in Kilmeaden at 6.20pm at the lay-by after Donnacha's pub before the roundabout - that will be about 25miles round trip from Waterford.
After 1 week in Portlaw we will resume time trialing on a new course for another 4 weeks. This time we will meet opposite IDA centre at Butlerstown and do a loop of Orchardstown, Tramore, and back to Waterford, back to the start.

Re: Club time trial 2011/ king of the hill
Hi all
Next Tues 17th will be the last week on the Airport Rd. 10 mile TT course for the moment. The following Tues the 24th we will be going to Portlaw for a hill climb "king of the hill", we will do this course 3 times over the summer once every 4 weeks. The course will be 2.5 miles starting at the bottom of the hill below the church, going to the 5 cross roads, taking a left and finishing about 200mtrs over that road.
Starting at 7 sharp in Portlaw, we will meet at the Top station at 6 for anyone who wants to cycle out, meet anyone in Kilmeaden at 6.20 at the layby past Donnachas pub before the roundabout that will be about 25miles round trip from Waterford. Bit of a challenge and a chance to compare times over the weeks. All welcome.
After 1 week in Portlaw we will resume time trialing on a new course for another 4 weeks. This time a loop of Orchardstown, Tramore, and back to Waterford.
There has been a great turn out so far and some great times well done, so lets keep it going on the new course's.
