Thanks to Marshals at training duathlon
Would just like to thank all the Marshalls who did an excellent job at the weekend! Except I was not really left with a feeling of warmth following Treasa's "Martin is three minutes ahead of you!" statement in a half chuckle coming into T2!!!! I was somewhat sceptical as to the timing as there was no marked finish line so where did Martin finish? Lance never had this trouble. Luckily Pauline remained neutral and was encouraging so there is some balance in life.
Thanks
Stefan

Re: Next training Duathlon
I thought I would get away with that sounding like a general comment and scenario but you did come the correct conclusion..he did overtake me and lap me...and I was FAR from leading...it was as if I was static...and I also had to endure Stefan, Brian and Stephen powering past me...not great for the ego..

Helly, were you in the lead at one stage, just you were saying that Martin overtook you?

Results from Butlerstown duathlon
Our final pre season club training duathlon took place yesterday in Butlerstown - location of our 1st official duathlon later this month. Re: Next training Duathlon
The next club training duathlon is on Sunday next the 28th of Febuary meeting at 10am, This time we will be doing the Butlerstown course, meeting in the carpark at the rear of the Holy Cross pub on the Cork road, as the main cork road is been used a Sunday would be a quieter time to hold it. This is an ideal opertunity for anyone planning on doing the race to complete the course. All are welcome.

Slatts, I was merely complimenting you on your first career victory and I feel that you have misinterpreted my intentions. However, in any event, I have obviously incurred your wrath and you have seemingly delivered a telling message to me that this is now triathlon warfare. It has now been 37 years since Limerick reversed the tables over Kilkenny, but I believe that the famine will end in Valentia this year

Indeed Dillonger - I paid good money to keep this information suppressed and away from your beady eye. I'll have to push the training further underground. The next time you see me will be at the start line in valentia.

Re: Next training Duathlon
Just one thing folks, the results from the duathlon on the 19th Dec have been shielded from the public until today, all of 35 days later.
I feel this is an attempt to shield the winner of the December duathlon from the eyes of the public.
Brian Slattery, I salute you for winning this race and you are now delivering results in a results driven sport.

Don't worry the planet X is tucked away on the turbo trainer as we speak! Don't think he would have left that one behind for some reason!

Subconscious planet X addiction
I think Barry was worried that he would be the only one going to Switzerland not on a planet X and left his bike deliberately!!!
Scarey for you Helen as it appears we had the same thought!!!!

Re: Next training Duathlon
Apart from the usual pre race chek list, you'll have to devise a post race check list for him and put your name on it to make sure....
Or maybe he is just looking for a new bike and was hoping it would not be there when he got back...although I don't think he'd have much luck of that happening in Fenor...

Re: Next training Duathlon
This is a little bit of a worry for me as I know how much Barry likes his bikes. Think I need to arrange alternative transport following all club activities just in case I too get left behind!!!!

Re: Next training Duathlon
Also, just HAVE to give a special mention to this funny story..
There we were, a few of us left in the car park (myself, Shane, Norma, Martin, Olive & Treasa), everyone else gone home, when we spotted a bike against the wall with a helmet and cycle shoes lying on ground in front of it. We were racking our brains trying to think of who could possibly own the bike and had obviously forgotten to bring it home.
We were just about to to look through the photos taken to see who owned the bike when we got a phone call from the owner to say he had just noticed the missing bike from his car as he was almost home..
A very shamefaced Barry Lambe arrived back to collect his bike soon after....goes to show...it can happen to the best of us!!

Had great turnout for our Jan. Club Duathlon in Fenor today. Despite the cold, foggy and frosty conditions, 26 eager athletes turned up to take part with many others standing around in the cold to help marshal. (It would have been easier to do the race!)
