Joey Hannon Results

Great results in Limerick at Joey Hannon's Sprint & Olympic distance races.

Things looked a bit dodgy early in the morning with the strong winds and showers but we were lucky for the races, as they never really got bad. I don't think the lads appreciated the strong wind on the bike (except Shane who loved it!) but they didn't mind the shower of rain on the run to cool them down.

Tom Casey had a scarey moment on the bike when, a combination of wind and bad road surface threw him out across the road a bit and he looked up to see Stephen Doyle coming at him in the opposite direction!

Stephen Doyle had his usual brilliant swim to have the 3rd fastest on the day and Shane Scadding was delighted with his new bike as he posted the fastest cycle of the day.

Shane finished 2nd overall and Stephen D. also picked up a prize for 1st in his age-group (7th overall)

Well done to Olive Costello on her 1st Olympic distance race.
