Great race for all levels.

Another great race today, The Crystal Clear Triathlon, couldn't be closer to home! Had about 100 participants-club results were as follows;

Mike Bowes was supposed to be doing it also but was put off by the length of the swim. He assures me he's keeping his powder dry for an assault on the 40-44 age category of the carrick try-a-thon instead

Hi all .Im doing the race on Sunday. The cycle is out to the ist roundabout at Kilmeaden, but I spoke to Donal Jacob on Monday(he is involved in the organising) and he said he wasnt sure about where the run was going but he said it would probably go in towards town and turn around Ballybeg somwhere.(they were meeting to finalise details) Its only 3 k I Think. At the rate Martin is going he could go home for a cup of tea on the cycle and still win.

Yes, it will be a very fast race, Copperman has tried out the one piece in public before race day so he'll be flying in the pool!

With the swim at 500m, the cycle shorter than usual (maybe 16k?) and I think the run may be short also, it is perfect for anyone who thinks they may not be too fit yet.
(Or perfect for anyone in my Sunday cycle group who may want an "easy" option of a race instead of a cycle...I think Olive C is still traumatised after her 70mile!! cycle last Sunday down towards Inistiogue, New Ross, Glenmore etc, including cycle in/out from Kilmeaden!! Thank God I missed it!) We may all do the race on Sunday...

Chatting to Eddie today, still places available think it would be a good first race, or one for those with an aversion to non-wetsuited swims (no names mentioned).

The route for cycle possibly out to kilmeaden and back, so Martin will be in the groove on that piece of road! I really am in trooouuubbbllleee!!!!!

Just a reminder to anyone who is planning on doing this race, online entry closes next Thurs so enter now if you want to ensure a place. Race is on Sunday 18th at 4pm.

Anyone who is not a member of Triathlon Ireland or who will not have their TI card on the day cannot buy a one day licence on the day so make sure you purchase this online through the TI website before next Thurs midnight. If you do not have this or a TI card you will NOT be allowed to race on the day. Also, be sure to bring photo ID with you..(new TI rules)
