Hi all, good opportunity to improve your run technique and ultimately run quicker! See below for details. First come, first served. Limited to 5 people only.

Who?
I am looking for athletes that engage in 3km+ runs, either individually or as part of duathlons/triathlons. Athletes need to be male aged 18+, train at least 3 days per week, and have been competing for at least 1 year. The study will involve 2 running mechanics measurements and a 4 week motor imagery programme.

What?
Athletes will be video recorded running a very short distance in order to breakdown and analyse running technique using computer software. Following this, each athlete will be put on a 4 week motor imagery programme which is designed based on recommendations by 2 professional sport psychologists. This programme will only take up 10 min a day on 4 days of each week. Upon completion of the 4 week programme, each athlete will be recorded again using the same method to examine differences in running technique.

Benefits?
The potential benefits from participating in the programme include an improved running technique which will reduce the risk of injury and reduce oxygen/energy consumption leading to improved performance. It is also an opportunity to develop and improve psychological skills that can be applied in all sporting situations.

If anyone is interested they can contact Daniel Cullen at 087 0677981 or daniel_kuln@hotmail.com.
