What a turnout for the sea swim in Dunmore East last night...over 80 swimmers took to the water. Our largest number ever! We had 55 members singed on, I think there were about 20 from Carrick and a few others. We actually ran out of spaces in the car park. Everyone will be there well early next week just to get a space!

It was a little bit warmer than previous weeks and a little choppy but was the nicest swim so far.

if these dont work, i posted them on the carrick site too and they worked on that one.

Well done on the swim everyone, hope you make it out to the five buoys next week and maybe to the pier the week after :-)

Had a great 1st swim of the season yesterday with 35 club members taking the plunge, some for the 1st time which was a bit of a shock from the lovely warm pool.

The 1st few minutes were the worst, as the freezing cold took hold of your feet and travelled all the way up to your heart Shocked ..and as the tide was out it felt like we had to walk for ages before it was deep enough to actually swim in. It wasn't too bad though, my face felt ok, it was just my feet and hands.

Most of us did about 400m (over to Peig's rock and back) some ventured out a bit further. And there were 2 open water sea swimmers there with NO WETSUITS!! None of us would survive that!

Only 2 more dips before Valentia...

Don't forget, we meet at 6.30pm every Monday (apart from Bank Hol Mon in June & Aug where we meet at 5pm). Try to get there early to sign on etc.
