Re: Ironman 2010
Definitely like the idea of that - I could use an interim goal to be aiming at. There's a half-iron in Cornwall on the same date as Valentia, but it would all add up (entry, getting there, accomodation). A local option would be great!

I like the sound of that. Would beat the cost of flying to the UK to do one.

Half ironman training race
As was discussed at the chat before christmas (i think we talked abouit it anyway), would anyone be interested in doing an easy paced half ironman distance training day later in the year?
Swim could be in Dunmore or a pool if too early in the year / weather too bad - I know Shane has a cycle & run course worked out

IMCH date changed to July 25th 2010 folks
Due to several construction sites, the transfer of the “Züri-Fäscht” (Zurich feast) on the competition site “Landiwiese Zurich” and other unexpected difficulties in relation with the 1st of August (national holiday), the organizer had to reschedule the date of the competition of the 14th IRONMAN SWITZERLAND, powered by ewz, to the 25th of July, 2010 (instead of August 1st, 2010).

Big news coming out of the Tramore branch today is that Marco Polo O'Cathasaigh has entered.
The Terrific 10 has become the Enigmatic 11. Can anyone make it the Tremendous 12????

Any more takers for IM Switzerland next year? Anyone after chickening out??
Can everyone who is doing it have their phones switched on and beside them when entering the race on Sunday night in case some of us are having problems in entering and need help! (When I say "us" I don't mean me...I will just be the one on the computer under stress!)
See ye in Carrick tomorrow...

Ironman 2010
After our egm tonight, where we had a "democratic" vote it was decided that we are going to do Ironman Switzerland next year. This will take place on Aug. 1st next year and has the attractions of a direct flight, easy/short to drive to in Europe, great beer and outstanding scenic views! Also a good course for spectators/families to watch!
It will open for registration at 12.01am on Monday morning (Swiss time) which should translate to 11.01pm Irish time on Sunday night (I think!). As Martin K said, we'll just keep checking it the whole time just in case....
So far, there are 10 people definitely going with a few on the fence.
So, make sure you set your reminders on your phones etc. and have your computer ready to go with your Active Europe password ready.
See ye at the weekend.
