Waterford Duathlon Series - Butlerstown & Fenor

The 1st race of our duathlon series was a great success last weekend in Butlerstown with over 150 entries, our largest number so far for a duathlon. We had over 50 entries on the day which was a nice surprise, if not a bit of a panic for the registration team!

Thanks to all the marshals who were all our own clubmembers (plus John Lyons' kids and friends on water and banana duty and Treasa on reg. and timing.) - It made a big difference to have marshals who understand races and are confident and capable to do the job right. Everyone worked together as a team throughout the day and there was positive feedback from athletes about a well marshalled race. Thanks to Brian Slattery also who, after retiring from the race during the cycle due to a dodgy tribars, donned a marshal bib and helped out also.

Also, well done to the club members who took part on the day, many for the first time.

Our next race is now looming, Fenor on Sat 24th April. We have about 80 entries so far so should be another great race. If anyone is free to marshal and hasn't given me their name, just text me.
