Getting to/ staying in Zurich
just wondering what everyone has planned at this stage as regards flights/accommodation/caravans..know a few are simply caravaning it over and a couple more flying to Frankfurt and caravaning from there??

I think the term they prefer is "campervanning". The resident itinerants get very upset about it being called caravanning

Speaking as one of the wandering nomads, has anyone done anything about booking ferries yet?

Re: Getting to/ staying in Zurich
Nothing booked yet but Martin K has done all the homework. Works out much cheaper to go via UK and tunnel as opposed to ferry to France. Big difference on price depending on whether you go on weekend or week day (cheaper week day)
eg. Camper + 2 adults through UK = 399 euro (Sat/Sun) one way
Camper + 2 adults to France directly = 523 euro (Sat) one way
Some of us are hoping to travel on the Saturday before to allow a few days to get there and relax and acclimatise!

Re: Getting to/ staying in Zurich
I've flights booked in and out of Zurich, Wednesday to Wednesday, but nothing sorted for accomodation yet. I'd be interested in one of the chalets at the campervan site, but of course they're not open for booking yet. If anyone has any more up-to-date info on these, or would be interested in sharing a chalet, would you let me know?
Off for 15 miles in the rain now - hurrah!
