Apartment Rental

Is anyone else interested in renting an apartment for a week or so for the race? I found this page which has a good few of them:

I'd say we would want to get it sorted sooner rather than later.

I'm open to any suggestions that don't involve tents or accomodation with wheels of any description on it

ill second the no tent approach count me in for apartment or whatever, will have a proper look during the week..

Slatts, I think you should channel your energies away from 'avoiding wheels' and towards 'holding onto them'.

Shane & Helen travelling in the Scaddingmobile. A €2 euro / 5 minutes charge applies to them using our showers. Barry can use up any minutes left over as per his "experience" in zurich

I think Gavin should commence researching immediately. I'm frankly disgusted that we haven’t received our dossiers from him already.

Shane said to make sure there is a nice level parking space outside the apartments also

I'd say Barry's "shower experience" (enough said here..) in Zurich is the reason he & Pauline are thinking of apartment instead of campsite for next year...I think Germany may be worse than Switz for liberal ideas...

Ger Hearne is also entered the race & I think he wants to be included in any apartment rentals, flight bookings, etc. I will tell him to make contact with ye...Not sure about Noel Ryan's plans..

'Shower Experience'? Afraid you've lost me there. No idea what you're referring to.

Unfortunately, weddings on both the Sat and Mon before the IM has put paid to our camping plans (and probably to my sub 17hr race plan).

P.S. Pauline has just informed me that she will not be taking the place of Martin & Olive for all of us in Germany

Surely she doesn't expect us to feed ourselves. Gavin can't be allowed within 10 meters of a kitchen

I just wont have time to cook and do last minute checks to see that everyone has their wheels securely tightened!

Just to defend Barry, I dont think he had any problem with the showering experience from what I could hear (I was next door) just a little nervous giggling is all could be heard

My mate has signed up for Regensburg as well so if you could include him in the head count for apts.
Shane, bring the clipboard and pen and we'll sign him to the club too.

Now, I'm off tomorrow so I might start compiling that dossier unless I end up in the boozer

I am taking tenders for catering at the moment!
Last date for receipt of tenders is 31st December 2010.

1. Cooking & Bike mechanic services contracted out to Olive & Martin
2. 6 Bed apartment within walking distance of transition
3. Must have one of those huge communal baths that football teams use for barry to share
4. Must have huge changing room for barry to slap our arses with rolled up wet towels
5. Must have ensuite so Pauline doesn't have to witness any of the above
6. Sky Movies would be good as well

For the record; Helly, Martin and Slatts have just been dropped from my Christmas card list.

Thats the gratitude after I defending you .... Slatts a little concerned about no. 4 on the list, it looks like its a little personal requirement of yours.....are you traveling on your own?

Martin I find that you're never alone when you travel with your towel

I must make it a part of my daily routine to check the forum.
Do I want to be in an appartment !. The thought of an iornman is daunting enough
now I have to contend with towel dodging and Slatts wants a changing room that every one can fit in ?
At least there will be Sky TV.
But beggers cant be choosers so I am in +1.

OK guys, we've provisionally booked accommodation in Regensburg.
Thing is we've overbooked so we have to cancel some of the accommodation when we finalise sleeping arrangements.
It may not be possible for us all to be in the same building/complex but we're doing our best to arrange it so we'll all be close enough to one another.
We hope to have finalised and booked accommodation by next weekend so watch this space as we'll be posting info and people will have to confirm whether or not they're in. A small deposit will be required.
To date, people being catered for include;

Brian
Stephen
Ger
Noel + 2
Emmet + 1
Seamie + 2
Shane & Helen and Marc & Roisin will be in campervans in campsite.
If I'm forgetting anyone, apologies and please let me know.
If you don't want to be considered please let me know.
So far, it looks like the accommodation is costing from c. €25-€30 per person per night.
We've booked from the Thursday 4th August until Tuesday 9th August.
