Re: Timetrial 2010
We are going to make this Thursday our last Time Trial for this year as, with 25 members doing Kenmare the following weekend, most will be saving their legs for that (don't know why really, Kenmare is a lovely easy cycle )
So, come along for the last night this week and give it a blast! Sign on from 6.15pm, start at 6.30pm.

Re: Timetrial 2010
Time Trial resumes again tonight for the last 5 sessions. As the evenings are getting darker sooner again, can everyone please be there early and be ready to start for 6.30pm. Choice of 10mile or 18mile.
A full list of times posted each week so far can be found on our homepage (link in the news section)
As always, we will be looking for marshals each week. We are ok for tonight but if anyone wants to put their name forward for the next few weeks that would be great.
Thanks. See ye there tonight.

There is a link to Full list of results and weekly times for both routes on our Home Page.
Also, this Thursday, (tomorrow 15th July) will be the last TT for a few weeks. (ie. a 3 week break) We will resume again on Thursday 12th August for 5 more weeks, finishing on 9th Sept.
Hope to see loads of faces and bikes there this week.

Re: Timetrial 2010
As far as I am aware, there have been no participants from another Triathlon Club take part in our TT's either this year or last year. (Can't remember 2yrs ago but we only had a few take part in our TT's each week as they were quite long cycles.)
Definitely no other Tri jerseys at our TT's. As I said, we do welcome guests either from running clubs, cycling clubs, no club or other. All guests are perspective members and are welcome to any of our training sessions to try it out and have a chat.
Sorry if there is any confusion with this.

Re: Timetrial 2010
Week 6, our 1st miserably wet & windy night but we still had a good turnout from the hardy members of the club not being put off by a little wind and rain, with a few more new faces making their debut. We introduced our 18miler tonight with a few people setting faster times already than they did last year so that's a great sign of things to come...a bit scary on the deep rimmed wheels at times...

Re: Timetrial 2010
Hi Pol,
Our Club Cycle TT's are for our own members and perspective members only. As a member of the Sportif CC ONLY you would be welcome to come along and try it out as you may then decide to join our club. But as you are a member of another Triathlon club already I'm afraid that means that you can't take part. Sorry.

Re: Timetrial 2010
Week 5 and it's great to see some more new faces, with 26 cyclists tonight, our largest group so far, with a few new pb's set again. We will be starting our 18mile route next week so people will have the option of either the 10miler or 18miler on the night, depending on how they feel. With TriAthy and Kilkee looming, there should be a good few takers for the longer distance...
Just a quick reminder...even though the very nature of our TT is to do the course in the fastest time and to try to beat your own previous time (and maybe the time of others..), it is effectively a training session, not a race. We do not have closed roads so rules of the road apply at all times! Any marshal on the course is there to try to make other road users aware of the cyclists on the road but it is up to YOU as a cyclist to make sure the road is safe to progress onto, and not make any assumptions. Our aim is to have a safe, enjoyable training session.
(Also be aware of the cows crossing which seems to coincides with our TT some nights...there's nothing we can do to mooooove them...
Congratulation to Robin Kelly (Comeragh CC) who set a new course record to beat his time from last year by 23secs..
Results tonight as follows:
Robin Kelly: ---22:16
Martin Kirwan: - 22.45
Ciaran Clarke: -24.13
Stefan Green- :25.00
Eamon Hartley: 25.36
Aubrey Storey-: 25.47
Marc O'Cathasaigh: 26.40
Stephen Butler: 26.46
