too many memories of lumps of cow shite swimming beside me a a kid! I'm sure its cleaner now though

Ourselves & Carrick Tri swim from Dunmore East beach on monday evenings however we don't start until the monday of the May bank holiday. Nobody from the clubs tend to open-water swim until then as the sea is absolutely baltic at this time of year.

There's a new tri club in Kilkenny that may be organising swimming in the nore. Unless your fond of effluent from the brewery & swimming with rats I wouldn't recommend it though

Hi, I am looking for anyone interested in swimming particularly this weekend in the sea.
I am moving down to Kilkenny for 10 weeks from Co Galway and would like to know of the safe places to swim nearby. I wouldn't be going too far as its still pretty cold, more of a dip than a swim, just to keep used to it.
I'd particularly like to swim the River Nore, if anyone knows the safe places and if are you allowed to swim through the town?
