Okay, so I got one quote from DHL RE: shipping bikes to Zurich.

I await hearing back from UPS and Fedex.

DHL do two options.

By Air – next day delivery.

By Land – 3-4 working days.

By land is much cheaper.

Cost

The cost is determined by either the weight or the cubic size of the package, whichever is the greater.

For the purpose of getting the quote, I told them five bikes.

Assuming each bike is 10kg and each bike box is 10kg, that’s 100 kg in total.

The Limerick hurling crisis escalated last night when six more players walked away from Justin McCarthy's squad.

The latest to quit in protest at McCarthy's decision to axe 12 of last year's panel are Brian Geary, Donal O'Grady, Seamus Hickey, Wayne McNamara and brothers Noel and Liam Dillon.

According to the Limerick Leader, the players contacted Limerick chairman Liam Lenihan last night to confirm their decision to follow Damien Reale and James Ryan out of ...

Last Sat, I was initially surprised to see this clubmember (who has been on a training sebatical) running down the hill towards me Portlaw. I thought I wasn't fully awake when I saw him turn up for the Comeragh Sunday Cycle the following morning, but it was a vision of him again this morning in The Tower when I was swimming before work which ...

This will take place on Aug. 1st next year and has the attractions of a direct flight, easy/short to drive to in Europe, great beer and outstanding scenic views! Also a good course for spectators/families to watch!

It will open for registration at 12.01am on Monday morning (Swiss time) which should translate to 11.01pm Irish time on Sunday night (I think!). ...

Following consultation with the committee of WTC this evening, we have decided to launch; I'm a Kenmare Celebrity, Get Me to the Finish Line. This is a competition with a fabulous prize for the winner.

All you have to do is to predict your splits in Kenmare as follows;

Swim Time

T1 Time

Cycle Time

T2 Time

Run Time

It will add to the fun afterwards ...

Myself and Shane were in Kenmare over the weekend and noticed new road km markings on the run route so made a few enquiries..

It looks like the run route is now an out-and-back course with the turnaround point another 1.5km further on. The finish is at Transition so we don't run back along the main road, we just run back the same way.

Also heard that the start time for race is 8.15am so we get a lie in! And it should be easier to eat that big bowl of porridge at a more reasonable hour. ...

I've been looking at the Club la Santa website, which is an activity-based resort in Lanzarote that does tri-training. It also has civilian facilities for any unsuspecting partners that might be dragged along.

Any interest out there for an Easter Training Camp in the sun? You know it makes sense . If there were a few heads interested, I'd be happy to make a few inquiries.....
